11/16/09  The children made night time skies with white crayon and black water color paint.  We compared different nests that children made from grass, playdough, and straws to a real bird nest.  We also tried to predict which nest would be the strongest.  The children put on a puppet show in the morning.  The story goes as follows;  the bad king (Brody) took the unicorn(Ryan) from the good queen (Elena).  The good queen called for help.  Rescue workers came.  There was a doctor (Matthew), a policeman (Niko), a fire fighter (Tyler), a construction worker ( chase), a knight (Stefan), a BFF (best friend forever)(Ethan).  The rescue workers went to the bad king and freed the unicorn.  The bad king went away and the good queen played with the unicorn.  They lived hapily ever after.  The children are learning about animals that are awake in the night.
