5/20/2012Dear Parents,For the next two weeks, the focus will be on insects. One of the main theme books will include: The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.I am still receiving physical therapy several times per week and working really hard in my sessions so that I may improve as quickly as possible. I will be seeing my doctor again this week. He will determine if physical therapy should continue or if surgery is my next option. I have been supplying lesson plans and projects to Jessica and want you to know that your children are being very well taken care of in my absence. And Dawn V. has also been absent but unfortunately I cannot disclose information on her medical condition. Many skills continue to be worked on including: language development, problem solving, critical thinking skills, color, size and shape discrimination skills, matching, prepositional concepts, various number concepts, classification, categorizations, social skill development, fine and gross motor skills. Literature and hands-on materials enhance experiential learning opportunities. Also, finger-plays, poems, songs, movement, art and play experiences are part of our daily repertoire of theme related activities.Show and Tell: Thursday - Please send in something that is related to an insect! Review the specifics of this item prior to our Show and Tell Day so that your child may verbally participate to the best of their ability. And remember, as always: PLEASE have the Show and Tell items labeled with your child's initials.Remember: Reading to your child is a gift to them and to you!Have a great week,
Ms. Dawn
