Welcome to General Music with Mr. K.

West Shore General Music uses a "hands-on" approach to music education.  Students will address both the District and National Music Standards by performing on multiple instruments including; guitar, keyboards, bass guitar and drums.  Students learn the basics of each instrument through extended Units of Learning. As a culminating task, students are required to form a band and perform a song of their choice with at least three other classmates. 

 

West Shore General Music also covers composition by using the Sibelius composing program. Students will compose a full length original song as a final project for this Unit.

 

Other projects will include exploring musical history, culture and various genres and styles through reading and writing.
