PLEASE *** PLEASE *** PLEASE -- Read the following new announcements and updates. May 1, 2008 -- Freshmen -- During the 3rd and last cycle we will be going outside of the building and heading over to the creek. One task that the freshmen need to complete is to determine the rate that the water is flowing. May 1, 2008 -- Freshmen -- Also during the last cycle the freshmen will have the oppotunity to showcase their artistic talents. In small groups they will have the assignment of creating posters that depict one of the following cycles: water, carbon, nitrogen. March 26, 2008 -- We are into our third trimester and if your grades have been less-than-desirable this is your final opportunity to pull them up. Even my students with the lowest grades can bring them up and get credit for the year. If you need extra help please ask. It is only too late if you don't start now. March 26, 2008 -- Copying fellow classmate's homework during another class is a double whammy. Not only are you not learning the material that you are copying but you are not engaged in the class that you are sitting in. This trimester I am going to crack down on this occurring in my class. I will take away the work and turn it over to the teacher who's work you are copying. What actions those teachers take is their discretion. Also, I will assign a detention. If the work that is being copied is an assignment of mine than I will assign 2 detentions. JAN 11, 2008 -- UNIFORMS -- Do not come into my class out of uniform. This includes the wearing of any clothing over your uniform such as a hoodie or coat. If you tend to be cold then wear a long sleeve shirt UNDER your uniform shirt. JAN 11, 2008 -- STUDY HALL -- Please bring school work or reading material to study hall. Study should be a quiet environment for students to do school work. Be aware that I am only allowed to send three students to the Media Center. VOTER REGISTRATION *** VOTER REGISTRATION *** VOTER REGISTRATION You probably are aware that you need to be 18 years old or older to cast your vote but did you know that you can register at age 17? With our next presidential election on the horizon you do not want to miss an opportunity to be involved in the election process. Therefore it is prudent to register as soon as you are eligible. You can get a voter registration form from the Registrar's Office at your city hall. Remember: Life is all about showing up.
