Review State Standards 12.1.1.- 12.1.5 - get worksheet from me and go over
all the standards on the two page handout.
Make sure you turned in the CIA factbook information on U.S./Chad/No.Korea
Global Economy Project 1
You are working for a company selling computers and have been asked to
handle one of the international accounts. The company works with the 32
countries listed at the Finch/Econ./International Business Culture and
Etiquette site.
You are to choose one country from the list and do some research before you
leave on your trip. You will find out economic information about the country
and cultural information about the country regarding making business deals.
Create a powerpoint slide show with the information listed
below. Your title slide should include the name of country, your name and
date. Go to the Finch/Econ/CIA site for the following general facts about
your country:
o population
o location
o government type
o GDP (gross domestic product)
o inflation rate
o industries
o exports
o imports
o currency
o You may include a map or any other information you would like.
Next, go to the Finch/Econ./International Business Culture & Etiquette Site
and include the following information:
o making appointments
o business dress
o conversation
o first name or tile
o gift giving
o making deals
o entertaining and public behavior
o If you have time please check the airline flights for costs. Go to my
Travel Project site to look up flight & hotel information.
You will be leaving on October 22, 2007 and returning on October 29, 2007.
Please include what airline you will be flying on and which airport you are
using.
o Pictures are always nice, so include them in your presentation.
o Extra credit will be given for hotel information and costs.
You will have several Fridays to work on this project and you can start it
whenever you have time at the end of each class period.
