WELCOME TO MARCH!

THIS MONTH IN K-ROCKWELL
In Language Arts, we will continue to build our vocabulary. We will learn the
high frequency word “for,” position words(object location) and opposites.
We will build sentences, match rhyming words and review word families “at,”
“an,” “it” and “ig.” We will also learn consonant blends. and review initial
consonants f,h,k,n,s,t,w and y. In Writer’s Workshop we will study patterns
in text. In Reader’s Workshop we will continue to choose our books and read
independently!
In Math, we will skip count using a calculator, review weight, collections,
shapes addition and subtraction and read time to the hour and 1/2 hour on an
analog clock.
In Science, we will learn about weather and weather patterns and finish up our
dinosaur, fossil and geology units.
In Social Studies, we will become more familiar with mapping skills, community
workers and economics.
