WARNING: SEVERE WEATHER
Due: October 24, 2008

Directions: You are going to research a severe weather event of your
choosing. You need to research the conditions needed to cause this event,
describe what happens, and research an actual event. Included in your
research should be a picture, diagram, or other visual representation of your
event. The visual can be printed from the computer or hand drawn. You will
present your research on a small poster (I will give you paper) and present
it to the class, teaching the class about your weather event. The
information below must be included on your poster.
Suggestions to research: hurricane/cyclone, tornado, blizzard, or ice storm.
Resources: At least one book source and the internet.

Civil War Battle Project
Due: April 18, 2008

You will research and present one of the battles of the Civil War.
Information should include:
commanders, a map, geography of the battle, dramatic moments, and ultimate
results of the battle.

You may choose to make a diorama, poster, or storyboard (like a comic strip)
to give a visual
representation to the viewer. Your visual representation should focus on a
dramatic moment of the
battle and show geographical features of the area in which your battle takes
place. Maps and written
information can be attached to the outside of the diorama, displayed on the
poster, or on the
storyboard.

We will use class time to begin the research, but the visual component of
your project will be done
outside of school. Two graphic organizers are attached to help you do the
research.

Battle Chosen: ____________________________________________

Three resources used – in bibliographic format. This information must be
attached to your final project.
