2nd Grade Community Project
During the month of October, 2nd grade has been studying community,
specifically the community around Janney. We hope to know some of the
businesses, services, and community workers in and around Tenleytown,
including the post office, the fire department, Whole Foods, the Sport &
Health Club, Z-Burger, and the Metro. We will meet some of the workers and
learn what their role is within our community.
We will also research the history of Tenleytown, and will take a short walk to
look at the businesses along Wisconsin Avenue. Each student will choose one,
sketch the building, and then make a model of it at home.
Model Guidelines:
- Try to use recycled materials
- It should be about the size of an 8 ½ by 11 sheet of paper
- It should be detailed and have the name of the business clearly written on it.
The model is due Oct. 22nd.
