02/09/12: Our ball study has begun! As with all our studies, we began with a web of ideas, gathering our thoughts and sharing with one another what we know about balls. As time goes on, we'll add to this from our learning in the classroom. From bouncing to rolling and how we define what a ball actually is (more difficult to word than we originally predicted!), we are exploring new ideas each day!
In addition, our letter groups have been running well. We are sorting words based on beginning sounds, identifying the letters we see, and working cooperatively with one another.
Please remember that drop-off in the morning begins at
8:35. All students should be in the classroom and ready for Morning Meeting by
8:45, and you MUST check in at the office and sign-in as late if you enter the classroom at
8:50 or later, or your child will be marked absent that day. It is important to arrive on time, as Morning Meeting is the best way to make sure every student starts the day on the same page and welcomes a new day at Janney on the right foot, without any disturbances.
