Homework for the Week of 11/16/09
Math – There will be one or two Saxon Math worksheets to do as Homework each
day this week (M-Th). Please return the Math worksheets the next day.
Language Arts – Read, Read, Read! Weekly classroom book(s) will be sent home
on Wednesday. Please spend 10-15 minutes reading with your child each day. I
know that I have been saying that there will be worksheets sent home for
Language Arts and there have not been – there WILL be a few this week. Check
the folders.
Spelling – Our words for this week focus on the middle (medial), short “u”
sound. The words also include two review words and two high frequency words.
The words are;

Please have your child do the following activities in their spelling journals.
Remember that this work is not due until Friday, November 20th. Your child
can do a little at a time throughout the week. If they should finish early,
please have them send in the Spelling Journal for us to check. Remember that
there will be a spelling test this Friday.
Children must do four of the following activities;
Write the spelling words three times each.
Write the spelling words in ABC order.
Use the spelling words in sentences.
Write the spelling words and circle the vowels.
Write the spelling words and box the consonants.
Write the words and make an illustration for each word.
Write the spelling words five times each.
Give a spelling test to a parent or sibling (who can make some mistakes)and
correct it.
Study the spelling words and have someone ask you to spell them aloud as a quiz.
