The W.B. Simpson Student Council is committed to recognizing both the wants
and needs of the W. B. Simpson student body. Furthermore, the Student
Council is devoted to developing and maintaining a positive school climate as
well as establishing a supportive relationship with the Camden-Wyoming
community.
Throughout the course of each school year, the Student Council plans and
participates in a wide variety of activities and events such as homecoming,
Rider Pride Day, canned food drives, adopt a family for the holidays, school
spirit days, Read Across America, and more.
Students in grades three, four, & five are eligible to run for Student
Council. Each homeroom elects 1 class representative and 1 alternate. These
individuals will assist in developing and executing all Student Council
sponsored event and initiatives.
Student Council representatives MUST attend all regularly scheduled monthly
general meetings unless excused by the advisor. All general meetings are
held after-school on the second Tuesday of each month. Representatives
elected to the Student Council executive board must also attend an additional
meeting on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss topics for the next
general meeting. ALL meetings are held in room 111 from 3:25-4:15 p.m.
Representatives must have secured rides prior to attending to any and all
meetings. Use of the office telephone and/or cell phones to schedule such
rides during the day is not permitted.
Student Council alternates are not required to attend regularly scheduled
general meetings when their classroom representative is in attendance.
However, alternates must attend meetings when their classroom representative
is either absent or has been excused by the advisor.
