***GRADES 9 and 10***
Rising ninth and tenth grade students are expected to read a minimum of TWO
books over the summer. Both books MUST be chosen from the 2009-2010 Florida
Teens Read list of Nominees.

Students will participate in the WRITING EXPLOSION and complete an essay
based upon their Summer Reading when school begins. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE
GRADED BY YOUR ENGLISH TEACHER.
***GRADES 11 and 12***
Rising eleventh and twelfth grade students will choose ONE nonfiction work
from the recommended reading list. During the first week of class students
will write about the selection as a diagnostic essay.
