How do I know if the media center owns a book that I want?
You can search for books, videos, or audio books in the ATCMHS Media Center
or any Broward County school library by searching in our online catalog,
Savvycat. You may also use SUNLINK to locate books and materials in any
school library in Florida. Both Savvycat and Sunlink can be accessed through
links on the Virtual Information Center page of this website.
How can I request a book that I would like?
Leave a book request in Room 2401, in the basket on top of the Book Return.
How do I return a book to the media center?
Please return your library books to the Book Drop located just inside the
door of Room 2401. Adult students may return their books to the Building 10
TRC.
If I lose my ID, how can I get a replacement?
Please report to Ms. Boykin in room 2418 either before or after school. You
must pay a $5.00 replacement charge.
How can I participate in Reading Across Broward?
Be sure to report the books you read by completing the "Reading Across
Broward" survey sheet. You may e-mail this to Mrs. Rohrbach, or print it and
drop it off in Room 2401. Check the RAB page for details about due dates,
etc.
What is Florida Teens Read?
Florida Teens Read is the statewide reading program for Florida high school
students. Read books from the current list of 15 titles and vote online for
your favorite in May. The website for voting will be announced in school and
posted on this page in the Spring.
What is Battle of the Books?
Each year a team of ten students are recruited to participate in the Battle
of the Books, a competition based on the Florida Teens Read books. The team
practices after school for several months to prepare for the all-day event
in April. If you are interested, contact Mrs. Rohrbach or Mrs. Lynch.
How long is the checkout period?
You may keep a book for two weeks. If you need more time, you need to renew
the book.
How do I renew a book?
You may renew a book simply by writing your name, the title of the book, and
the word "Renew" on the checkout form in Room 2401.
Do you charge a fee for overdue books?
No! But if you do not return a book, or return it in poor condition, you
will be charged the replacement cost of the book. This will become an
obligation on your student record.
