9/22/14  News from Ms. Cendoya

Students and Parents,
I heard about a GREAT website for students to learn and practice their typing skills. This is a totally free site that allows me to create and monitor student accounts.  I have just registered all of my students with their own accounts.  Typing practice should begin as soon as possible and should take place at least a few times a week.

To log in go to
http://www.typingweb.com/tutor/  .
Your username and password is your student ID #.

Today Is Family Day - A Day To Eat Dinner With Your Children!
Children who eat dinner with their families four or more times a week are far more likely to grow up to be drug free than those who have infrequent family dinners.
Here are some ways you can celebrate:
  1. Have a special family dinner tonight! Check out our activity guide and recipes and start incorporating easy and fun strategies into your family meals. Then, aim to have four or more family dinners a week.
  2. Play the Family Dinner Dash. Overcome roadblocks as you make it home to Family Dinner. Challenge the whole family to a game and see who can score the most points. The Player with the highest scores in Florida will win a $250 Publix Gift Card.
  3. Get Social. Family Dinners are the Original Social Network. Tweet photos of your Family Day projects, activities, and family dinners to #FLFamilyDay.
Together, let's help our kids grow up safe, healthy and drug free.

This is a reminder to please bring in all your summer Box Tops! Remember, the class with the most Box Tops wins a Pizza Party. We are trying to collect 50,000 Box Tops this year. The money will be used to help the teachers in the classroom. Please bring them as soon as possible and give them to Nadine at the PTA store. Remember to place the Box Tops inside a Ziploc bag and do not staple or glue them. Thank you for your cooperation!
