16th edition
Thank you so much for all the gifts toward the classroom! We got plenty of new supplies, books, puzzles, stickers, and a great new 'frustration frog'!
Welcome to January! I hope you all had a fabulous Holiday and are as excited about the New Year as I am! We will be learning a lot in January so be prepared! As we ring in the New Year, you will see some changes in the classroom. We will be revisiting the classroom expectations, procedures, and routines this week. We will introduce our table captains and explain their daily responsibilities. We will begin our morning writing journals. This is my favorite activity and one which I know you will all enjoy!
Our theme for the next two weeks will be Weather and Polar Animals. We will find out about where they live, how they live and what types of animals they are. We will learn about the weather patterns across the globe and how this affects the animals and the landscapes!
Phonics: Letter Bb, sight words 'me' and 'for'
Reading: generating questions and details in a story
Math: trapezoids, hexagons, circles
Social Studies: weather patterns, polar animals and their habitats
DON'T FORGET
VOLUNTEERS:
I am looking for some afternoon volunteers. Afternoon help is from 2 - 3 or 4. I will be asking you to help with preparation/reading to small groups. Let me know if you are interested. Mornings are no longer a priority for classroom help. I still have plenty of work that can be sent home if you are in need of more hours.
Thank you!!

Birthdays this month:
