Snack and Share- (starting next week, Sept 8th)
· I will send home a calendar every month. The calendar will be by alphabetical order (I have not included those children who have already sent in snacks the past two weeks, thank you! J) and the children with birthdays during the month are asked to bring a snack in to share for their birthday. Usually this is a cake, cupcakes, or cookies to celebrate their special day. You are more than welcome to join us on this day. Snack time is 2:45 every day.
· Please provide enough snacks for 18 children. These should be healthy, nut free (if possible) and include a drink. Good examples of snacks would be: cheese sticks, yogurt sticks, apple slices, crackers, goldfish, pretzels, granola or fruit bars, fruit snacks. Juice boxes, small water bottles, Capri-Suns are also very good.
· Please bear in mind there is one child with a severe nut allergy.
· Please DO NOT send in homemade snacks, birthday cakes, cupcakes etc. All food items MUST be store bought and sealed or they will be disposed of. L
· If your child is scheduled to bring in a snack, it is also their Show and Share day.
They will also be the Calendar Person on this day. They are responsible for operating the ActivBoard during calendar time and completing the calendar pocket chart. This is a very exciting time for them J.
· Show and Share will be at the end of the day and your child is allowed to bring in a favorite item from home to share with the class. They will be asked to give three clues about their item. (If necessary, you can write these down and I will read them to the class) For example: a pink purse would be 1. it’s something you carry 2. girls usually use them 3.you hold things in it. The rest of the children will be asked to guess the item based on the clues.
