Hello! Welcome to Bay Haven! I am thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten
teacher this year. I am writing to introduce myself and give you some
background information so that your child’s transition into kindergarten can
be smooth and enjoyable for all of us.
I am originally from upstate New York and Pennsylvania. I moved to England
upon completing college and married my husband Rob. We moved to Florida in
February 2001 after living in England for 10 years. We have three children,
Robbie (13), Ellie (10), and Sofia (5). Sofia will be a kindergartner herself
here at Bay Haven! This will be my third year teaching at Bay Haven and I
truly love every minute of it! Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for
fifteen years in the television industry as an editor and producer.
This year you can expect your child to have fun while learning! I believe we
need to instill in children a love for learning so that they will
become ‘life long learners’! To do that, I will incorporate many exciting
activities using the latest technology (ActivBoard), co-operative strategies
(working in teams), and plenty of hands-on activities. Using integrated
thematic units, I will teach the curriculum so that your children can relate
what they are learning to ‘real-life’ experiences that cover all subject
areas.
I absolutely LOVE teaching and firmly believe that all children can excel
academically and socially
through creative and hands-on learning activities in a cooperative group
setting!

and lots of reading and
writing!
