Some parents have asked about the letters and sounds we are working on in class. I follow the order presented
in our Zaner-Bloser writing series. Most of the students know the alphabet by sight but need to focus of
writing each letter in the correct formation. Thus far, I have presented the concepts of straight lines, horizontal lines,
diagonal lines, and forward and backward curves.
We have covered: Ll, Ii, Tt, Oo, Aa, Dd, Cc, Ee, Ff, Gg
The list continues: Jj, Qq, Uu, Ss, Bb, Pp, Rr, Nn, Mm, Hh, Vv, Yy, Ww, Xx, Kk, Zz
We spend one week on each letter. After which we will focus on blends such as sh, ch, th.
