to another exciting year at Bob Graham Education Center!
This is the Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale Contract you need to look over and
sign. I believe everyone needs to be aware of the requirements of being a part
of Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale. No student will be allowed to perform
without a signed contract.
Please review the requirements below and sign the bottom with a contact phone
number and a working e-mail address so I can contact you if the need should
arise. Additionally, please include your volunteer number at the bottom.

Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale Class Performance Contract
2009-2010
1. All Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale scheduled performances are
mandatory.
Performing is an integral part of the curriculum and therefore will count as
10 grades per performance. Any student who does not show up for a performance
must produce a note from and signed by their parent/guardian within 48 hours
of the missed performance. The note must contain information as to why the
student didn't attend the performance. ONLY after the receipt of the note will
an alternate assignment be given. The alternate assignment must be turned in
no longer than 1 week after the missed performance. I will not accept
assignments after 1 week.
Weekly tests are worth 3 grades each and their class participation is worth 2
grades per class. They will also be responsible for a Mini-teach project ,
worth 10 grades, which will be presented throughout the school year at a date
the student is assigned.
No student who has a grade average below a C either in academic or in conduct
in Mrs. Carballo's class will be allowed to peform with their group and no
alternate assignment will be given. Mrs. Carballo has the right to exclude any
child from performing due to their behavior during any rehearsal, during the
waiting period before the performance begins or during the performance itself.
No refund of any monies will be given to parents who have paid for tickets to
the show because their child was excluded from a performance due to their
behavior. All behavior consequences will be documented through the Middle
School Discipline procedures.
Additionally, no student who arrives late to a performance will be given
credit. I consider late showing up 15 minutes or less before the performance
is scheduled to begin.
2. It is your responsibility to provide transportation to and from
performances. I plan performances well in advance and if there is a problem,
it is up to you or your child to make alternate arrangements. No child
will be allowed to perform unless the parent/guardian is present for the
entire performance. You may NOT drop them off and pick them up later!
3. In the case of a field trip, it is your responsibility to have a Volunteer
number. These forms will be given out the first few weeks of school. If you
are not cleared by Miami-Dade County Public Schools and do not receive a valid
Volunteer number, you cannot attend any field trips with us. If you have a
Volunteer number already, you're good to go! They last forever!!
4. Miami-Dade County Public Schools allows us to collect a $ 4.00 materials
fee from each chorus student. A fee letter will be coming home soon. Please
send in the $ 4.00 cash as soon as possible. I cannot purchase any music or
materials without these fees.
5. Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale will have the same performance outfit they
did last year. The Singing Bobcats/Bobcat Chorale polo shirt, khaki school
uniform pants and solid, all black sneakers and a solid, all black belt. If
your child doesn't have the shirt, we will be ordering them again this year.
The cost will be approiximately $ 15.00 and must be paid in cash. ALL
SHIRT SIZES ARE ADULT SIZES. YOU WILL GET THE SIZE YOU ORDER. THERE ARE NO
REFUNDS FOR SHIRTS THAT DON'T FIT BECAUSE YOU ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE!!
An order form will be coming home within the first few weeks of school.
6. Our BGEC Music Boosters Parents group is ready to being another year of
fundraising efforts. We need you to help us this year more than ever. Please
indicate below your name if you would be willing to help us this year.
7. In our efforts to reduce printing costs, it will be the student's
responsibility to print any assignments given to them. Additionally, all
efforts
to communicate with the parent and child concerning their academic work, any
disciplinary actions and performance information
will be e-mailed to both the parent and student. It is VERY IMPORTANT to
have valid email addresses for both the parent and
the student. Please fill out this information at the bottom of this form.
