Islands of Adventure

The Singing Bobcats and Bobcat Chorale performance trip to Islands of Adventure has been APPROVED!!! :) We will leave and return Friday, December 11th, 2009.

The most important thing you need to know is, if your parent/guardian intends to be a chaperone on the trip, they must have a valid Volunteer Number. The procedures for obtaining a volunteer number were sent home with each child during the week of October 12-16 and a printed copy has been available from Mrs. Carballo since those dates. You must apply on line now- there are no forms to fill out. Everything is done on line.   Our school's Volunteer liason is Ms. Elizabeth Cuba and she can be reached by either calling the school and leaving a message for her or emailing her at: ElizabethCuba@dadeschools.net.

No parent/guardian will be allowed to pay for a seat on the trip without a valid Volunteer number submitted on the field trip forms.

An informational letter concerning Islands of Adventure will be sent home once payment is made.

All forms must be turned in to Mrs. Carballo filled out and signed by December 1st, 2009.

The cost is $110.00 per person, whether it is a student or adult. This cost covers the price of the bus trip up and back, the admission ticket to the park and 2 meal vouchers that must be used in the parks before we leave. They are not valid for any rest stops along the way.

No adult seats will be held for anyone who does not have a valid Volunteer number at the time the monies are collected.

All students will be assigned to a chaperone for the duration of the trip. All students and chaperones attending the trip are required to ride the bus up and back. Students cannot be remanded over to another adult uless they are assigned to by Mrs. Carballo.

The most successful trips are those that are planned for in advance. I suggest students who wish to be together that day try and get assigned to the same chaperone. No chaperone will have more than 5 students, including their child, under their supervision.

There is the option this year to pick which park the participants want to spend the rest of the day. This means, the group should come to an agreement as to whether they want to spend the time at either Islands of Adventure or at Universal Studios. Park hopping is not recommended.   There is a lot of time wasted going from park to park. The key here is compromise. Everyone must work together for the trip to be successful.
