All home learning is worth 1/2 of the weekly Elementary music grade.
The first homework assignment for all of Mrs. Carballo's Elementary Classes
is to go on this website and e-mail Mrs. Carballo using the e-mail icon at
the top right of the homepage. The students have 1 week to complete this
assignment. I will not accept the excuse of the child not having a computer
at home. We have a Media Center, 2 Computer Labs at Bob Graham Education
Center. There is a Miami Lakes Public Library near the school.
Additionally, every classroom has at least 2 working computers. Every
teacher has assured me any student who does not have internet at their home
will be able to use the classroom computers to complete their assignment.
Every child has been given the website address. Please make sure you and
your child visit my website at least once a week.
Each child is required to have a music folder with pockets, 25 sheets of
blank paper, 2 sharpened pencils, their recorder and any other music
worksheets or materials I have given out. These materials are required for
each music class. If they do not have their recorder, they will not be able
to earn full credit for that class period.
Fifth Graders have an additional home learning assignments each week.
Students must practice their recorder for at least 15 minutes each day.
Students are given a practice log which is to be filled out and the parent
must initial the form. The form is collected each week. The student must
turn in the form filled out and initialed in order to receive credit.
Classroom Discipline for Grades 3, 4 & 5
Rules:
1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Sit quietly with your required materials, recorder, music folder &
home learning ready.
3. Raise your hand & wait for permission before you speak.
4. Leave your seat or area only with teacher's permission.
5. No eating is allowed in class.
6. Treat each other with courtesy and respect.
Consequences:
1. Verbal warning.
2. Written warning to parents and 1 conduct letter grade drop on report
card (B)
3. Phone call home and 2 conduct letter grade drop on report card (C)
4. Detention- 3 conduct letter grade drop on report card (D)
5. Referral to counselor/administrator and F in conduct on report card
Rewards:
1. Verbal praise
2. Positive note home.
3. Positive phone call to parent.
4. Participation in special class activities and performances.
