This will be my second year as the elementary art teacher at Bonita Springs
Charter School. I am
incredibly excited to begin another school year at BSCS!
My Background:
Before I relocated to Florida, I was originally from Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania. I later attended
Washington & Jefferson College, outside of Pittsburgh and earned a degree in
studio arts. I remained
in Western PA after graduation and began working in a non-profit art center.
As Assistant Director, it
was my job to make sure the mission of our organization was carried out,
which was to help all
children, regardless of their economic status, to have the opportunity to
participate in and explore
the arts. Through this experience I discovered my passion for art education
and couldn't be happier
then where I am today, teaching at BSCS!
Interests:
In my spare time I love to go to the beach, ride my bike, read, paint and
watch the STEELERS!!!!!
My mission for art class this year is to indroduce students to the world of
art, which is all around them. I hope to encourage them to explore their own
creativity through individual ideas and have fun doing so. I think art can
enrich a child's life in ways that will carry over to other aspects their
education.
