READING STRATEGIES to build comprehension (understanding what we
read):
1. Making Connections: prompts readers to use their own experiences
to better understand the characters' feelings and actions.
2. Visualizing: helps readers picture in their minds what is going
on in the story to gain a clearer understanding. Students should
try make a picture, like a movie, in their heads.
3. Predict: causes readers to analyze information given about a
story events and characters in the context of how it might logically
connect to the stories conclusion. |
