I am a native of Massachusetts and a diehard Red Sox fan. I recently earned
my M.Ed. from Graceland University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as
a writer and editor for both newspapers and magazines. I have won many
awards for journalism and continue to write poetry and plays in my spare
time. I am passionate about the arts and have had the privilege of working
in collaboration with the Van Wezel and the Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts on arts integration projects. I also love to travel and try
to fit in trips during the summer and winter months. My favorite city is
London but I also adore Key West, Cape Cod, Cabo San Lucas, and, of course,
Boston!
Language in all of its wonderful forms is my passion, and I hope to inspire
a similar affinity for reading, writing and the creative arts in my
students. I believe all students can get excited about learning if a teacher
shares his/her enthusiasm for the subject and allows students to contribute
whenever possible. You will never hear me say, “We’ve always done it this
way.” My students teach me new things every day. I hope they learn as much
from me as I do from them!
