1. Information on Major Tracey A. Stark:
A Veteran of the United States Air Force, Mrs. Stark went to school
using the GI Bill. She has been a teacher at BMS since 1993. She has had the
privilege of teaching all grade levels and all four core subjects. Her first
love in Education is of course is teaching Civil Air Patrol in the after
school program. Her favorite subject is History where she has her
concentration of hours. She lives on ten acres in Myakka City with her
Husband Gary, & Son JP. Some day she would like to have a miniature farm
with Pygmy goat’s, miniature horses, & miniature cows.
2) Course Descriptions: 7th Grade - Math
In this course student will to develop skills in the following:
Standard 1: Number Sense
Standard 2: Measurement
Standard 3: Geometry
Standard 4: Algebraic Thinking
Standard 5: Data Analysis and Probability
3) Expectations:
a) The Teacher will:
i) treat the student with respect
ii) provide the structure necessary for a good learning environment
iii) provide the knowledge and methods necessary for learning
b) The Student will:
i) treat the teacher with respect
ii) behave in a manner that will help maintain a good learning
environment
iii) put forth the time and effort needed to learn
iv) use pencils, not pens, on tests, quizzes, and class work.
v) be expected to ask questions when they do not understand
something
vi) should always show the work, processes, and all intermediate
steps, etc. when answering all problems on, (quizzes, tests, and
classroom)assignments.
Many students want to spend a great deal of time making their work overly
neat and orderly. I am less concerned about “pretty” work, and more
concerned about legibility and showing the steps and methods of a solution.

a) Black Pen & 2 Pencils (not mechanical) b) Notebook w/wide rule paper
d) Colored Pencils - 12 pack or larger c) Calculator
e) Erasers f) Pencil Sharpeners (hand held)
5) House Rules:
a) Self-supporting Head b) follow class procedures
c) 5-6 feet on floor at all times d) Bottled water only
6) Consequences:
a) Verbal Warning
b) Lunch or Take Home Detention
c) Afterschool Detention
d) Teacher-Student Discussion
e) Phone call to parents
f) Referral
7) Assignments
a) Tests & Quizzes:
i) Quiz given at the end of each section.
ii) Test given at the end of each chapter.
iii) No “retakes” on quizzes – plan on taking it the first time only
iv) Absences:
(1) Day prior to a test: take test on test day
(2) Day of test: take test upon return
b) Class work:
i) Given almost daily
ii) Must be completed
iii) Any student not completing it in class needs to finish the
assignment by the next regular class
iv) Collected at regular intervals until then it should be in the
students Note Book.
v) Graded for completeness and for correctness on reviewed questions
only
c) Midterms/Final Exams:
i) Given at the end of each grading period
ii) Students with a "B" or better are exempt from mid-terms & finals

9) Make-up Policy
Whenever possible, it's always easier to “make up” work before being absent.
a)Procedure for “after the fact” absences
i) Get assignments and notes from a classmate
ii) Read text carefully, review notes, and attempt the assignment
iii) See me to arrange for extra help on work you don’t understand
iv) One day per day absent to make-up, work unless otherwise arranged
