Mrs. Blandford
I am so happy to be teaching at Thunderbolt Elementary this year in Second
Grade! This will be my 6th year at Thunderbolt after returning from St.
Johns County where I taught First Grade at Durbin Creek Elementary. I began
my teaching career at Charles E. Bennett in Fourth Grade and
Doctors Inlet Elementary in Fourth, Fifth, and First Grades. This is where I
met Mrs. Adams and was lucky enough to teach 4th-5th grades with her!!I was
born and raised in Jacksonville Florida growing up in Fruit Cove attending
Julington Creek Elementary and Allen D. Nease Jr./Sr. High School. After
High School I went to St. Leo College where I graduated with a degree in
education. I have a husband and 2 children: Bob, Bayley, and Bubba. We have
the cutest dogs in the whole world: Snoopy, Boomer, and Coconut! We also
have chickens, ducks, rabbits, and 2 pigs! (My boys really, really love
animals!) My hobbies are crafts, scrapbooking, swimming, boating, and
working on this webpage! I also really love going out to eat at different
places with my family! I hope you have a great time exploring our website!
Come back often! Love Mrs. B
Mrs. Adams
Hi! I am so glad to be your child's second grade teacher. I grew up in a
suburb of Chicago called Libertyville. I went to Iowa State University in
Ames, Iowa and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education. I then taught
in Houston, Texas and Corpus Christ, Texas. I taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and
6th grade. My Husband is in the Military and we used to move around a lot,
we are now settled in Fleming Island. I have also taught at Doctors Inlet
Elementary, with Mrs Blandford, we loved teaching together and always said,
some day we would love to share a class again, we are so excited to work
together with your kids. I have three daughters that also attend TBE, a 5th,
3rd and 1st grader. They keep are great kids and keep us very busy. We
spend a lot of time on the Clay County Soccer fields, where I also coach a U7
team. With my free time I like to run, I run ten miles a day and up to 20 on
Sundays. The class and I will be doing some math actives involving the miles
I run. I know we are going to have a great year!
