Spanish 2 Homework Assignments

2nd Quarter
Wednesday 1/7 or Thursday 1/8
Today we began our practice for the semester exam.  In class we are using a
packet of practice questions to prepare for the same type of questions on the
midterm. You should also be preparing the answers to the oral interview
questions.  Tomorrow we will begin to present those answers and continue these
orals through Monday. 

Tuesday 1/5 or Wednesday 1/6
Today we saw the 3rd episode of El Relicario and reviewed the oral interview
questions and answers.  Starting tomorrow through Monday we will be reviewing
for the mid-term and doing the oral interview.

Monday 1/4 (3rd and 4th) or Tuesday 1/5 (1st period)
Today we turned in the answers to the oral interview questions and worked on
getting our notebooks ready to turn in today or tomorrow at the beginning of
the period.  Exam review will be Thursday, Friday and Monday.

Thursday and Friday
These days we finished our presentations and got our exam exemptions signed. 
Over break you must get your notebook in order and prepare the oral interview
questions.

Wednesday 12/16
Today we presented our oral presentations on giving directions.  Homework: If
you have presented your oral already, your only homework is to prepare the
oral interview questions for the exam, due after break.  

Monday 12/14 (4th) or Tuesday 12/15 (1st and 3rd)
Today we practiced our conversations to be ready to present on Wednesday or
Thursday.  Remember that each person must have a copy of the conversation
ready to turn in at the time of the presentation.  The only homework is to be
sure to have your presentation memorized and ready to go on Wednesday in case
you are called.

Friday 12/11 (3rd and 4th) or Monday 12/14 (1st)
Today we wrote our conversations with our partners to be presented next week
on Wednesday or Thursday.  Remember that it is to be a conversation asking for
and giving directions.  You must use chapter vocabulary in each line (5 lines
per person), you must use commands throughout, you must have a copy of your
conversation for each group member, and you must memorize it.  Homework:  in
addition to preparing your conversation, do text activities 21, 25, and 32.  

Thursday 12/10 (3rd and 4th) or Friday (1st)
Today we learned to give directions and make formal commands.  We also
reviewed the familiar commands.  Tomorrow we will divide into groups and
prepare conversations/skits which will be presented next week and will replace
a test for this half-chapter.  Homework:  Take notes from text pages 102, 104,
and 106 and finish CVG pages 33-36.

Wednesday 12/9
Today we turned in our crossword puzzles and played A La Colita.  Homework: 
CVG pages 31-32.

Tuesday 12/8
Today we had our Ch. 3.1 test and turned in the CA review workbook pages. 
Homework:  Ch. 3.2 vocabulary crossword puzzles and be sure you are familiar
with all of the 3.2 vocabulary before tomorrow.

Monday 12/7
Today in class we used computers to review for tomorrow's test.  Homework: 
finish the Cuaderno de Actividades pages 21-24 and prepare for the 3.1 test
tomorrow.

Thursday 12/3 or Friday 12/4
Today we reviewed CVG page 30 and saw a video on preterite tense formation. 
Homework:  Test review--Cuaderno de Actividades pages 21 - 24 (page 24 is
extra credit culture based on the information about Santo Domingo on the pages
preceding the chapter).  These pages will be due on Tuesday which will be the
day of the 3.1 test.  Monday we will have computers to practice for the test
as we usually do.

Wednesday 12/2 (3 & 4) or Thursday 12/3
Today we went over the CVG pages 27 and 28 and then reviewed the preterite
tense irregular verbs on page 94.  We did lab book activities 10 and 17 in
class.  Homework:  CVG page 30.  

Tuesday 12/1 (3 & 4) or Wednesday 12/2 (1)
Today in class we did text activities 11 & 12 to turn in for a participation
grade.  We also took notes from page 94.  Homework:  Text #16.

Monday 11/30
Today in class we reviewed all the vocabulary homework and took notes from
page 92 in the textbook.  Homework: CVG page 29.

Wednesday 11/25
Today we worked on the impersonal se finishing yesterday's worksheet and
checking the homework.  Homework:  CGV page 28 and Text #8.

Tuesday 11/24
Today we turned in our vocabulary crossword puzzles and presented our
conversations based on Activity 5.  We also got a worksheet on se (both
passive and impersonal) to do as homework.  Other homework:  Notes page 90 and
text activities 6 and 7.  

Friday 11/20 (1st and 4th) or Monday 11/23 (3rd period)
Today there was a substitute who handed out a worksheet for writing the
answers to the activities with the reading on pages 70 - 72 in the textbook. 
Also there was a crossword puzzle given which will be due the next time the
class meets.)

Thursday 11/19 (3rd and 4th) or Monday 11/23 (1st)
Today in class we finished looking at the vocabulary in chapter 3.1.  We
worked with a partner to create a conversation based on Activity 5 in the
textbook.  Each partner had to say where they went (3 places) and what they
did (2 activities) based on the map on the prior pages.  Each partner needs a
copy of the conversation to be presented next week.  Homework:  CVG page 27.

Wednesday 11/18 (3rd and 4th) or Thursday 11/19 (1st)
Today we reviewed the vocabulary for part 1 of chapter 3.  In class we did
activities 1 and 2 from the textbook writing them on page 21 of the Lab Book.
 Also on that page we did listening activity #3.  Homework:  CVG pages 25 and 26.

Monday 11/16 and Tuesday 11/17
These two days are BAT testing days.  Classes meet irregularly.  If your class
met on one of these two days, there was no additional homework given.  In
class we played a vocabulary game.  Work will be collected or checked the next
time the class meets.

Friday 11/13
Today we took the chapter 2.2 test and turned in the Cuaderno de Actividades
review work. We also tore out our CVG pages for chapter 3.  Homework:  Make a
Chapter 3 vocabulary list from page 117.  Do both lists.  Also, do the first
activity on page 25 of the CVG.

Tuesday 11/10 (4th) or Thursday 11/12 (1st and 3rd)
Today we used computers to practice for the 2.2 test which will be on Friday.
We also looked at the CA activities on pagess 15-20 to be sure we understood
the directions for each since these will be due on Friday.  Homework:  Study
for the test and finish the CA work.

Monday 11/9 (3rd and 4th) or Tuesday 11/10 (1st period)
Today in class we reviewed all of the grammar topics in chapter 2.2 with the
grammar guys videos and activities.  We also went over the homework from the
last class.  We tore out pages 15 - 20 from the Cuaderno de Actividades to
practice for the upcoming test.  These pages will be due on Friday when we
take the 2.2 test.  Homework:  Do 2 -3 activities from CA pages 15 -20.

Friday 11/6 (3rd and 4th) or Monday 11/9 (1st period)
Today in class we took notes from page 66 in the textbook about the regular
preterite tense and the irregular verbs hacer and ir.  Homework:  Text #32 and
#34 from the textbook and CVG page 24.

Thursday 11/5
Today in class we took notes on expressions of duty with infinitives from page
64 and the homework was activity 29 in the textbook and page 23 in the CVG.

Wednesday 11/4
Today in class we reviewed all the homework we had been working on for the
last few days and took notes on ser and estar from page 62 of the textbook and
from the board.  We also did a worksheet on ser and estar which should go in
the notes section of your notebook. Homework: If your class did not finish the
worksheet, do it as homework along with CVG page 22.  On page 22 you must give
the verbs as answers and give a reason for your choice.  Reasons for choosing
ser or estar can be found in the textbook on page 62 or on the worksheet we
did in class.  

Tuesday 11/3
Today in class we wrote sentences using prepositions and house vocabulary.  We
turned in this assignment, so if you were absent, your absence must be excused
or you will have a zero for it. We also reviewed the Expresate vocabulary on
page 61.   Homework:  CVG p. 20 and page 21 #15.

Friday 10/30 (4)  or Monday 11/2 (1 and 3)
Today in class we worked in our Lab Books to review culture and the new
vocabulary.  We learned the new vocabulary for chapter 2.2 and practiced it. 
Homework:  Text Activity 19 and CVG page 21 Activity 14 only.

Thursday 10/29 (3 and 4) or Friday 10/30 (1)
Today in class we tool the chapter 2.1 test and turned in the homework packets
with:
1. Cuaderno de Actividades pages 11-14 (page 14 for extra credit)
2. Vocabulary Crossword Puzzles
3. Saber/Conocer Worksheet
We also turned in the culture comparison assignment about David and Nelson if
we kept it overnight.  Homework:  Preview the vocabulary in the textbook on
pages 58-59 and do CVG workbook page 19.

Wednesday 10/28 (3 and 4) or Thursday 10/29 (1)
Today in class we used computers to finish our review for the Chapter 2.1
test.  We used the my.hrw.com website to complete the Vocabulary, Grammar, and
Integration tests found under the View Assignments section accessed from the
textbook picture page.  All paper and computer assignments should be finished
by tomorrow (test day).  Be prepared to turn in the paper assignments and
study for the test!

Tuesday 10/27
Today there was a substitute for the second day.  Today in class the
assignment had four parts:
1.  Translate the two interviews of David and Nelson on textbook pages 56-57.
2.  Answer, in Spanish, the "Para comprender" questions1-5 on page 57.
3.  Create a Venn Diagram based on David and Nelson showing the differences  
and similarities between the two men.
4.  Write an extended response (that's about a half to 3/4 page) in English
discussing the information from the Venn Diagram.  Remember to include at
least four pieces of supporting evidence for your ideas when describing how
David and Nelson are the same and different.
 
Monday 10/26
Today we had a substitute in class, so we worked on the pre-test review
materials which will be due on the test day:
1.  Cuaderno de Actividades pages 11-14 (page 14 is extra credit)
2.  Vocabulary Crossword Puzzles
3.  Saber/Conocer Worksheet
