
2nd Quarter
Thursday and Friday
Today we did our oral presentations and got our exam exemption forms signed.
Over break you must organize your notebook and prepare the oral interview
questions.
Wednesday 12/16
Today we went to the Chorus Holiday Concert. Homework: Prepare for your oral
presentations tomorrow. Be sure you have turned in your Chapter 3.2 Homework.
Tuesday 12/15
Today we practiced our presentations due Thursday now as tomorrow we will go
the the Chorus Holiday Concert. Prepare to turn in your homework for Chapter
3.2: CVG pages 31-36, Notes pages 118, 120, 122 and Text activities 24, 25,
28 and 29. We will turn in this work before we go to the concert.
Monday 12/14
Today in class we worked with our partners to write our conversations to be
presented on Wednesday and Thursday. The assignment is this: Write and
present from memory, a conversation among three people patterned after the
Chapter 3.2 conversation on pages 112-116. Include information about the
argument, the advice given, and the reconciliation. Each person must have at
least 8 lines--more if necessary to tell the story. Each line must use
chapter vocabulary. Each conversation must include use of the future and the
conditional tenses. Be sure to have all assigned chapter work completed by
tomorrow for questions and clarification.
Thursday 12/10
Today we reviewed homework problems and discussed the future and conditional
tenses. We also divided into groups of three to begin work on a
presentational conversation/skit based on chapter 3.2 which will replace a
test for this half-chapter. Presentations will be next week on Wednesday and
Thursday. Plan to be present every day next week! Homework: Take notes from
text pages 118, 120 and 122. CVG pages 33-36.
Wednesday 12/9
Today we turned in our crossword puzzles and played A La Colita. Homework:
Textbook Activities 24, 25, 28, and 29.
Tuesday 12/8
Today we took the chapter 3.1 test and turned in the CA review workbook pages.
Homework: Ch. 3.2 vocabulary crossword puzzles and CVG pages 31-33
activities 16, 17, 18, 19, and 22. Be sure you have reviewed the vocabulary
for this half of the chapter well before tomorrow.
Monday 12/7
Today we reviewed with computers and did the listening activities for chapter
3.1 If you took your lab book home to finish the listening activities,
remember to put it back on the shelf tomorrow to be graded. The Cuaderno de
Actividades pages 21 - 24 are also due tomorrow. And of course the 3.1 test
will be tomorrow too.
Friday 12/4
Today we reviewed the rest of the 3.1 workbook pages and did some listening
activities in class. Homework: Cuaderno de Actividades pages 21-24 (page 24
is culture based on the information on El Caribe prior to chapter 3 and will
be graded as extra credit). This work is due on the test day.
Thursday 12/3
Today in class we reviewed text activity 10 and looked at the two grammar
discussisons on the subjunctive. We did together and turned in text
activities 14 and 19. Homework: Copy the notes on pages 106 and 108 into
your notebook; then do workbook pages 29 and 30.
Tuesday 12/1
Today in class we saw videos on Puerto Rico and Cuba and turned in our notes
from both. Students with an excused absence for today will be excused from
this assignment, those who are unexcused will receive a zero. The homework
from yesterday is held over until Thursday as tomorrow is a no 2 day.
Monday 11/30
Today in class we reviewed the vocabulary homework from the CVG. Homework:
Take notes from page 104, do text activity #10, and do CVG page 28.
Wednesday 11/25
Today we read the conversation on page 102 and played La Colita. Homework
Text # 2, #4 and #7 and CVG page 27.
Tuesday 11/24
Today we watched episode 2 of Clara Parspectiva and completed lab book pages
60-61. We also practiced the new vocabulary on pages 98-99. Homework: CVG
pages 25-26.
Monday 11/23
Today we reviewed homework from page 88 and we turned in the chapter 3
vocabulary list. We also started the VideoNovela Episode 2. Homework: Prepare
your writing assignment to be turned in tomorrow.
Friday 11/20
Today you had a substitute. All of the work listed below on Wednesday was
worked on today and is due Monday.
Wednesday 11/18
Today we took the chapter 2.2 test and turned in CA pages 15 - 20 along with
the vocabulary crossword puzzles. Homework (to be worked on in class with the
substitute on Friday):
1. Choose one of these to prepare in written form. (Later you will prepare
it as an oral presentation.)
a. Picture Story page 85. Tell the story (tell what is happening in
each picture) in Spanish. Be as detailled as possible.
b. Write an extended paragraph describing your ideal friend or
boy/girl friend.
2. Read the paragraph in #2 on page 88 and answer the questions in complete
sentences with detailed answers.
3. Make a vocabulary list for chapter 3 (page 135). Do the entire
list/page!
Tomorrow is a "no 2" day, so you will have Friday with the substitute to do
this work. It will be due on Monday.
Tuesday 11/17
Today we reviewed all the leftover homework from chapter 2.2 in preparation
for tomorrow's test. We also did the Lab Book Activities on page 19, #34 and
#37. Finally, we discussed the directions for the Cuaderno de Actividades
pages 15-20 where we had trouble understanding what to do. Note: page 20
will be done for extra credit only. Homework: finish everything and study
for the test.
Friday 11/13
Today we used computers to practice on the Expresate game program and at
my.hrw.com. Homework: work on the CA pages 15 - 20 and study for the test on
Wednesday. Tuesday's class will be spent reviewing vocabulary homework and
doing the listening activities in the lab book in preparation for Wednesday's
test.
Thursday 11/12
Today we reviewed the last of the grammar homework on the subjunctive and tore
out the Cuaderno de Actividades pages 15 - 20. Homework: CA pages 15 - 20
and computer review for the 2.2 test coming on Wednesday next week.
Tuesday 11/10
Today in class we reviewed homework and copied nto our notebooks the notes on
Subjunctive with Emotions on page 74 of the textbook. Homework: Text #38 and
CVG page 24.
Friday 11/6
Today in class we reviewed the work on double object pronouns and learned
about the subjunctive in cases of unknown or negative antecedants. Homework:
Take notes on page 72 and do activity 33 from the text and CVG page 23.
Thursday 11/5
Today in class we did activity 30 together to learn how to write sentences
with Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns together in the same sentence.
Homework: Take notes from page 70 in the textbook and do CVG pages 21 and 22.
Wednesday 11/4
Today in class we did activity 22 together turned in our answers to activity
23 to be graded. We also read the conversation on page 68 for understanding.
Homework: Text activities 26 and 27 and CVG page 20.
Tuesday 11/3
Today in class we read and discussed the vocabulary presentation on pages
64-65. We were working on the lab book exercise 21 (also on text page 66)
when the bell rang, so we will finish this tomorrow. Homework: Text
activities 22 and 23.
Monday 11/2
Today in class we took the 2.1 test and turned in our review activities:
1. CA pages 11-14 (p. 14 is extra credit)
2. Crossword/Word Search page
3. Textbook activities 10 and 14
Homework: look over the new vocabulary on textbook pages 64-65 and do CVG
page 19.
Friday 10/30
Today in class we reviewed the rest of the CVG workbook pages for chapter 2.1
and worked on the computers to complete those assignments. Homework: prepare
for the test on Monday and bring all homework to be turned in.
Wednesday 10/28
Today in class we reviewed problems with the work from yesterday and decided
that the test will be postponed until Monday. Tomorrow is an no 2 day so on
Friday we will use computers to finish our review for that test after checking
leftover homework from the last few days. Be sure you have everything
complete before tomorrow.
Tuesday 10/27
Today there was a substitute for the second day. Today's assignment had four
parts:
1. Translate into English the interviews of Lucia and Pamela on pages 62-63
of the textbook (both questions and answers).
2. Answer, in Spanish, the "Para comprender" questions 1-5 on page 63.
3. Create a Venn Diagram based on Lucia and Pamela showing the differences
and similarities between the two girls.
4. Write an extended response (that's about a half to 3/4 of a page) in
English discussing the information from the Venn Diagram. Be sure to include
at least four pieces of evidence to support their ideas when describing how
Lucia and Pamela are the same and different with respect to friendships.
Monday 10/26
Today in class we had a substitute. This is a list of all assignments you
should be working on to prepare for the chapter 2.1 test.
1. Cuaderno de Actividades pages 11-14.
2. Vocabulary Crossword/Wordsearch handout.
3. Nosotros Commands worksheet (new today).
4. Text activity 18, p. 60 (new today).
5. CVG page 18 (new today).
6. Computer Assignments (Tests on Vocabulary, Grammar, Integration) at
my.hrw.com accessed from the page which shows the green textbook click on View
Assignments. The test is postponed.
