The second quarter is well underway.
In Algebra 2, Period 1, students took a test on Chapter 4 on Friday,
November 13. We will begin Chapter 5 on quarter functions and equations on
Tuesday, November 17, but sophomores will be taking BAT tests in Reading and
Math on Monday and Tuesday and juniors will be taking the Science BAT on
Monday, only. Seniors will report to the gym on Monday, but our regular class
on Tuesday. We will begin Chapter 5 on Tuesday and sophomores will have a
couple of days to catch up. In Period 2, students also took a test on Chapter
4, but will meet on Monday, as usual.
Many students are struggling on tests because they are doing NO homework.
Students are assigned homework every day except the day of a test. Please ask
your student to show you their completed homework and the returned graded
homework. Don't accept the response "I've done it" or "I don't have any."
You can check their period on this website to see what their assignment is.
In Calculus AB, we are almost finished with Chapter 3 and will have a quiz on
sections 3.1-3.6 on Friday, Nov. 13 (Period 3) and Monday, Nov. 16 (Period 5).
We are beginning section 3.7, optimization, and will have only one more
section(differentials) before we move on to Chapter 4 on Integration.
In Calculus BC, we are quickly reviewing Chapter 5 on exponential,
logarithmic, and inverse trig. functions. Students have taken a quiz on the
first 3 sections.
