Mission For The Class

CULINARY OPERATIONS 1
In this course you will learn many cooking skills and taste many delicious
foods. Among the food you will make are chocolate cookies, pizzas, pasta, hash
browns, pancakes, biscuits, muffins, barbecue pork, grilled steak, chicken
Francese, omelets, pies, tortillas chips & salsa, potatoes salad, and your own
decorated cake. You will also learn to do all this while practicing good
safety and sanitation skills to ensure your food not only tastes good but also
is good for you.

CULINARY OPERATIONS 2&3
This is a two credit course that is taken sequentially.You will learn 
advanced cooking skills through the use of tools and equipment in the
commercial style kitchen settings. A few of the meals that you will prepare
are: Cheesecake, Coconut shrimp, Clam Chowder, Fried Chicken, and Cinnamon
rolls. Another highlight of this class is the weekly shopping trip at Publix.
Once a week the class makes a trip to Publix to buy the supplies needed for
the weeks cooking. You will also learn waiter and waitress skills that may
help you qualify for a job in a restaurant as well other career/job
opportunities in the food service industry.With the completion of Culinary
Operations 1-3 you may qualify for the Florida Gold Seal Scholarship.
