Dear students,

Welcome to Advanced Placement Environmental Science!

You should know that I was in your shoes once too as I took 3 AP courses when 
I was your age and successfully passed all of them. So, I can tell you from 
experience that this year is going to be both challenging and enlightening. 
Environmental Science is highly interdisciplinary so it will give you a solid 
background in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and the Earth Sciences. Please use 
this website as a basis for announcements and assignments, especially if you 
are going to be absent.

Assigned Work:
Students should have chapters 1 and 2 read by the second day of school and 
should be prepared to take their first test by the end of the second week of 
school.

Math Review:
Please start reviewing conversions in the metric system and practice 
multiplication and long division without a calculator as they will not be 
permitted to be used on the exam or in class.

Check out the show "Bones" on TNT and watch "The Secret is in the Soil". Several of the concepts in the 
course are highlighted in this episode.

Check out "Stuff Happens" on Planet Green or in itunes. This is an environmental TV show hosted by
