Supplies:
• 1 Folder with pockets for biology use only
• Maintain a supply of loose-leaf paper in this biology folder
• 1 box of colored pencils
• #2 pencils and blue or black ink pens
• 1 plastic pencil sharpener
You are required to bring your folder with plenty of paper to school every
day to take notes, hand in assignments and save material handed out in class.
In addition, you must have pencils or pen, colored pencils, and pencil
sharpener in class every day.
If you are absent on the day of the test, the make-up test is in the morning
at 7AM in room 1118.

You can also check the 3-ring notebook called the Copy Binder. A copy of the
assignments are placed in there for you to copy when you return from an absence.
Rules for Classroom Behavior
1. Sit in your assigned seat and start the warm-up when you enter the room.
2. Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.
3. Abstain from eating, drinking, chewing and grooming.
4. At the end of the period, remain in your seat until you are dismissed.
5. Enter and exit through the door located in the front of the classroom.
6. Do not write on the classroom desks. This behavior will result in an
immediate detention.
1st Offense: A verbal warning
2nd Offense: Telephone call to parent and/or points off participation grade
3rd Offense: Detention
4th Offense: Referral
Biology Class Procedures
1. Bring supplies everyday. You must have a sharpened pencil or pen and paper
in a biology folder in class everyday.
2 Sharpen dull pencils before the bell. You may raise your hand and ask
permission to exchange your unsharpened pencil for one at my desk.
3. Start your warm-up as soon as you enter the classroom. Socialize outside
these doors.
4. You will make a portfolio for every chapter. Portfolios can be worth more
than a test.
5. I grade warm-ups in your portfolio. Number your warm-ups and write them on
ONE page per chapter.
6. You will also maintain a Learning Log for each chapter. Date your Learning
Log entries and write them on ONE page per chapter.

Or check the copy binder, copy the warm-ups on Fridays. I will put them in at
the end of the week. (Leave six lines for each day you are absent)
8. If you miss a test, you must come at 7AM or lunch to make it up.
9. Restroom passes. You have 2 passes a marking period. I give you 10 EXTRA
CREDIT points. If you use the restroom pass you forfeit 5 points each time.
10. Stay focused.
11. Finish all assignments.
12. Put your completed assignment in the class folder.
13. You may wash your hands at the back sink only! NEVER use the side sinks or
the sink in the front. Breaking this procedure will result in a detention.
14. You may never get up and wander around the classroom. Raise your hand and
ask permission if you need to be out of your seat.
