Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! Hopefully everyone had a
wonderful, fun, and restful summer and are ready for the challenges ahead.
I am pleased to take this opportunity to meet you and to welcome your child
to my class. A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort
between parents, students, teachers, and administrators. I am excited about
the new school year and look forward to working with you to give your child
the best education possible.
In order for all children to receive a quality education, we must have a
positive classroom. I expect my students to show respect to the adults and
students in our classroom and school, to follow all school rules, and to
always do their best. Please review the Code of Conduct and school rules
with your child. It is important for your child to know the consequences and
reward system of our school.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns
regarding your child. This year, you can access the Parent Portal
to monitor your child's progress. Using your child's login information and
password, you can check grades at any time. Please check your child's
agenda for notes and write notes when needed. Your child should have
assignments written in his/her agenda for Language Arts everyday. The
information will include classwork, homework, project planning and due
dates. Please check your child's agenda and sign it each day. Parent
communication is very important to me and to our school. Also, you can email
me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at the school (863) 421-3267.
I will email you or return your call as soon as possible.
The first day of school, I assign students "Parent Homework". This
is a wonderful activity I enjoy sharing with my students every year.
Your child will come home and ask you to complete the Parent Homework. In
the beginning of the year, there are so many things every parent wants
to be able to tell the teachers and never have enough time. This is your
opportunity to introduce your child to me. You can tell me anything about
your child that you would like to share. You may share your child's
strengths or hobbies. You may share any concerns or health issues I need to
be aware of to be able to help your child to have a successful year. It is
an opportunity for me to see your child through your eyes.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child. I am looking
forward to getting to know you and your child this year. I hope your child
will have a successful, fun learning experience.
