Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What is the best way to achieve a high grade-point average in your class?
Attendance is the key to success in any classroom, but particularly in mine. Many of the activities are "student-centered", meaning if you are not here to participate, you cannot earn the points. Of course, if you are ill, I will work with you in every way possible to make sure that you are successful.Back to Top
May I call you at home if I need help?
Of course you can, and so can your parents. I prefer not to receive phone calls after 9:00 p.m. in the evening, but if it is an emergency I promise not to shout at you! You may also reach me through the email contact on this website. My telephone numbers are as follows: home-850-271-4076,cell-850-814-6001, and school: 850-265-9887 ext 2509Back to Top
What is a dual-enrollment class?
A class in which you earn both your high school credit and college semester hours at the same time. You may earn 3 hours of English credit by taking my ENC1101 Senior English class, 3 hours of credit by taking my ENC 1102 class, and 3 hours of performing fine arts credit by taking either drama or stagecraft. The drama and stagecraft classes earn 1 hour of credit per semester; three semesters earn a full 3 hours which is the requirement for any major at most universities. Dual-enrollment classes are free of charge, and many students are able to earn an equivalent to the freshman year in college by the time they graduate from high school!Back to Top
