About The Teacher
Writing has been my passion since elementary school. As a student in middle school my friends and I would write creative stories that would, in effect, become a chain book. We never knew what direction the next writer would take the story. It was exciting, and sometimes frustrating, to see how a story would develop through the four different minds in our group. My hope is that each student will develop a love for reading and writing. Effective communication skills solve a multitude of problems. I truly enjoy teaching students how to use communication skills for every day situations and how to have fun with it as well.
Mission Label:
Mission
My ultimate goal for students in Middle School English is to guide them through the transition from elementary school to middle school. The course is designed to move the student from elementary reading and writing into a more advanced curriculum. As students progress through the middle school experience they will prepare for that all important transition to the upper school and on to college. Emphasis is placed on organization and responsibility. Students will build their knowledge of language to allow him or her to progress to a higher level of usage and comprehension. Hopefully, the students will recognize the importance of organizing their coursework and accepting responsibility for their own assignments. Parents are encouraged to be a part of their child's educational team. Together, we will prepare our students to be successful, confident adults.
