Student and Parent/Guardian signatures on the class contracts are due.

Tuesday, 8/25/09 submitted signatures will earn 100% credit.  
Wednesday, 8/26/09 submitted signatures will earn 90% credit.
Thursday, 8/27/09 submitted signatures will earn 80% credit
Friday, 8/28/09 submitted signatures will earn 70% credit.
After Friday, 8/28/09 submitted signatures will earn 0% credit and a 
parent/guardian will be contacted.

Scientist Presentations (Project Grade)

The following should be included in the 2 minute presentation:
1. The name of the scientist
2. His/her birthplace
3. His/her birthdate
4. His/her discovery/invention/contribution(s) to society
5. An 8" x 10" photo of the person
6. A prop of your choice related to #4 above
7. You have the option to speak as the scientist or the scientist's relative

Grades will be based on following directions, organization, and 
creativity.

Achievements
	I am telling Mrs. Homer about the events that went well on ___day 
during the rocket lab in this paragraph.  I am using 12 point font Times New 
Roman for everything in my paper.  However, my title is in 14 point font… 

Areas of Improvement
	I am telling Mrs. Homer about some challenges that I had with the lab 
in this second paragraph.  I am remembering that challenges and/or mistakes 
are just as important as the achievements because I can learn from my 
mistakes.  By the time I am finished with this second paragraph, I will have 
included 500 or more words.  I will save this to my computer and on Mrs. 
Homer’s memory stick by the end of the period.  When I am finished, I may 
work on something for another class if time allows.  Remember to use spell 
check.  The grade for this paper will be averaged in with the grades for the 
lab report and for the lab materials.

You may earn 2 Homework Passes if you submit a 4" structure constructed with 
toothpicks and raisins.  This structure should involve some triangles so that 
it is strong enough to hold a basketball for approximately five seconds.
