The Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test will be administered March 12-25, of 2008. In the fifth
grade, the students will be tested in Reading, Mathematics, and Science. The
fifth grade Reading portion of the FCAT is multiple choice. The Mathematics
portion of the FCAT is multiple choice, gridded response, short response, and
extended response. The Science portion of the FCAT is multiple choice, short
response, and extended response. Throughout the school year I will work hard
to prepare your child for the FCAT. The Achievement levels describe the
success your child has had on the FCAT. The Achievement levels vary from 1
(lowest) to 5 (highest). An achievement level of at least a level 3 is
required for your child to be performing at grade level.
