FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
The morning bell rings at 8:15. Students are considered tardy if they arrive after the 8:20 bell. All students are dismissed at 3:05. Students are not permitted on campus before 7:45AM. If your child arrives tardy or you need to check your child out early please go directly to the office. What is the best way to reach Mrs. Keyes? Usually the quickest way to get in contact with me is through email. You can email me at keli.keyes@polk-fl.net You can also call me at school (648- 3540) and leave a message in which I will call you back on my soonest planning time. What days should my child wear tennis shoes? Tennis shoes are required for our PE Days which are Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Tennis shoes are encouraged on all days though as students will often be outside walking about campus or playing. Volunteers play such an important role at HCE! If you wish to volunteer please stop by the office and fill out a volunteer application online or click on the "Links" section of this website and locate the appropriate website. Upon successful completion of a background screening I will contact you to set up a day and time to volunteer. If you wish to volunteer to help out with projects from home please contact me. Your help is always appreciated! Can my child bring water and a snack to school? Students are permitted to bring water bottles to school. The water bottle must have a sport top though so that it may close in order to prevent spills. Snacks are completely optional. Students will have a chance to eat a healthy snack during their AR reading time (about 10:30AM). Parents are responsible for sending a snack with their child if they feel one is needed. Please do not send cookies, chips, etc. Pretzels, fruit, veggie sticks, etc. make wonderful mid-day snacks! |
