Dear Parents,
Each night your child will be bringing home this homework notebook. Their
reading, math and spelling homework will be included daily.
• Reading
Reading homework will be given each night Mon- Thurs. Each night
please practice the High Frequency words of the week with your student.
Remember to continue going back to previous weeks as well to keep retention
of previous words.
Students are also required to read 20 minutes each night. Please write the
title of the book read next to the day of the week. I will allow students to
borrow classroom books each night to bring home and read. Please remember to
return them the next day. Reminder: the goal is for your student to read to
you.
• Spelling
Please practice spelling words each night Students are not required
to write words each night. You may practice these orally or whatever works
best for your child.
• Math
Math homework assignments will be placed in the pocket of the Green
Hornet Folder. Your child may NOT have math homework each night. Please
refer to agenda as to what the assignment is for each night. Please review
and initial each homework assignment with your student.
Reminder: Please remember to check and sign your child’s agenda each day for
behavior information as well as upcoming events.
