Cross Country 2008 |

Runners interested in cross country: We will tentatively have our first meeting on Wednesday, August 20th at 3:45 P.M. in my room (portable #12). I will pass out permission forms, which must be signed by your parents before you try out. Tryouts will begin at Highland Oaks Park on August 25 at 4:00 P.M. at the ballfield. Be dressed and ready to run--no school uniforms and non-athletic shoes are allowed, but P.E. uniforms or other workout shorts are fine.
Please be prepared! Run this summer 3-4 times per week at a distance of at least 2-3 miles per run. If you can't do two miles yet, slowly build up to the distance with walking and running. Avoid running outdoors between 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. when the sun is at its peak. Drink plenty of fluids before and after running. Wear sunscreen and stretch before running. Please run with an adult supervising you at all times. The better shape you are in when tryouts start, the better your chances of competing in meets successfully!!!
