Dear Parents,
This week's reading story is entitled, Island of the Blue Dolphins.
This abridged version of the 1960 classic is another example of the reading
theme of teamwork. Students may expect a spelling test and reading test on
Friday. The spelling homework will be collected on Thursday.
We are in need of four or more chaperones (per 5th grade class) to attend
the Junior Achievement BizTown field trip on Wednesday, January 6. This is an
all day field trip and with careful coordination between teachers, students,
and parents should prove to be a memorable event. Please notify me via note,
email or child, if you are interested in attending as a chaperone, by Monday,
December 7. Remember you must have your volunteer clearance application
approved.
Please be reminded that we are a uniform school and students should be in
uniform each day (blue or white collared shirt and brown or blue shorts). It
appears some students are beginning to take a few too many liberties with this
school rule. Your assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Each student will receive an Interim in their Friday Folder this week.
This will be in place of the pink Weekly Progress Report. Please review and
sign the Interim and have your child return the form on Monday.
