What is the ZPD on my child's STAR Report?
ZPD stands for Zone of Proximal Development for independent readers. Your
child should choose AR books within this independent reading range. We
encourage students to select books with book levels in their ZPD range.
These books will provide optimal reading challenge without frustration.
For Example if a student has a ZPD Range from 2.5-3.5
* They should select books throughout the reading range of 2.5, 2.6, 2.7,
2.8, 2.9, 3.0,......3.5
Success at any book level also depends on the student's interest and prior
knowledge of a book's content.
