When does AR begin?

AR begins after Open House.On Monday (9/15) I will send home the results of 
your 
child's STAR test. In order
for them to do AR they have to be able to read the test. A great website is 
arbookfind.com. You can search for books and it tells you the reading level 
and quiz number. Once your child starts taking the test you need to write 
down on a piece of paper the name of the book and the author's name or just 
the quiz number. Then your child will put it in the morning class basket. 
They 
will have an opportunity during the day to take a test.

I want to volunteer, who should I contact?

Handbook.

What are the requirements to volunteer at HFCS?

You have to be fingerprinted and cleared. Plus, you have to take a safety 
quiz by Sept. 30, 2008. You can go this website

What is the best way to reach Mrs. Cann?

It is through my school email, Kcann@hfcschool.com. I check it before school 
starts and after the students have left for the day. If it's an emergency 
call the school's main number.

Why didn't my child get a paper about their STAR results?

Before they actually take the STAR test they have to take a practice test 
(both tests are timed). If 
they can pass that then they automatically are given the actual STAR test. If 
they don't pass the practice test then the program doesn't give me a reading 
level. They can be tested again mid-year. We will be working with the 
children one-on-one and in groups so that they can better their reading 
abilities. Please continue working with them at home as well.

Can my child take another STAR test before the mid-year?

I am sorry they are only allowed to take the test in the beginning of the 
school year, mid-year and at the end of the school year.
