This is my 17th year here at Holy Family Catholic School.
I moved to Clearwater, from Massachusetts, when I was twelve and still visit
my parents in Maine each summer. I am a graduate of Florida State
University...Go "Noles! My husband, Lorin, and I have been married for 29
years with two children, Lorin Jr. and his wife Heather, Lisa and a bichon
named Missy.
I love to... read, shop, kayak and spend time with friends and family.
This summer I took classes at the University of Notre Dame's Alumni College
with Mrs. Riess, Mrs. Miner and Miss McKenzie. We studied Shakespeare's King
Lear...tragic; Evolution -A Poet's View...many ideas to ponder; and The
Brain...many ideas to use in the classroom! We went from King Lear fearing
old age and losing his mind, to the Brain class where we learned how not to
lose our minds. I hope it helps!
An interesting fact about me...Miss McKenzie's sister is married to my
uncle's nephew, in a small town in Massachusetts. We found that out one day
when Miss McKenzie was telling me about her sister's husband. I said, "I
think we are related!"
What's new in my life...We had a busy year with Lorin and Heather getting
married Thanksgiving weekend and Lisa graduating with a Masters in Speech
Pathology from Vanderbilt University on Mothers Day weekend. We are happy
to have Lisa at home with us and working at All Children's Hospital as a
speech therapist.
My hopes for this year...that students learn to be organized and
independent learners; that they learn many new skills such as cursive
handwriting and multiplication; that they attend Sunday Mass or worship
services; and that each child puts their faith into action as they learn to
serve others.
