HAPPY CHANUKAH! I wish ALL the OPALS and their families a safe and happy WINTER BREAK!!!!! SCIENCE: ( from: Mrs. Landman)12/7/09 We began Lesson 7 this week. All students received a package and were given specific directions on how and when to complete it. They all know that studying is part of each day's assignment. NOW! NEW! NEXT! ON-GOING NEW: The in-class book report about Aldo, will be written on Tuesday, January 5th. NEW: In January, our Social Studies classes will be researching Jewish Heroes. Your student will receive directions to support the requirements. Later in the month, each student will present his or her hero. Costumes for the presentation are encouraged! NEXT: International Day will be on January 26th. The OPALS will represent the country of PERU. Please send any information or artifacts to school with your student. We would love to receive: recipes pictures stories maps costumes other? NEXT: SAVE THE DATE!!!!! Our class play will be on Friday, February 19th. On-going: The 3rd grade team is collecting OLD batteries for recycling. Please support our effort, and send old batteries with your student. To date, the 3rd grade team has collected over 764 batteries! On-going: Our class will be writing homework assignments (from the classroom chart) into individual planners. Long term assignments and/or special test dates will be communicated on this page. Students are encouraged and empowered to check the chart for daily assignments. Thank YOU for your support!
