A New Hampshire native, TEN years ago, I traded blizzards and tire chains
for hurricanes and shutters; autumn leaves and real maple syrup for sizzling
sunshine and mangoes. I cannot believe I have been living in paradise for a
decade!

My home is full of four-legged family members - three mutts that were
rescued from the dog shelter; Chloe, Ebi, and Olivia. I used to have two old
fat cats; Frankie and Peeps but Peeps passed away in May 2007. Leaving
Frankie to rule the roost.

** New news - I am sad to report that Frankie passed away September 1, 2008,
he was 17 years old and was a delightfully old cat. During his last few days
he loved to be brought outside, onto our front porch, to soak up the sun.
Now the dogs have the run of the house and keep asking when we are going to
get another cat.

I devour mysteries and non fiction literature. I have read so many books
that I have to keep a list of the ones that I have read or I will forget that
I read them and start to read them again.

I am a birder, a term used by ornithologists, which simply
means a bird watcher. I particularly like to observe raptors, my current
favorite is the Osprey. My all time favorite bird to sneak a peek at is the
Roseate Spoonbill, I see them most often when hiking through the Everglades.

I also love Geocaching - if you do not know what that is visit
www.geocaching.com for a history of the sport.

My lastest and greatest outdoor achievement is that in July of 2008 I climbed
Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeastern United States, at 6288
ft (1917 m). It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather. Check it out
at http://www.mountwashington.org/

When I was a third grader I knew that I wanted to be a teacher; teaching is
my passion. I love working with parents and students and being a member of
the KLE community.

Mission For OUR Class

Our classroom community's mission is to consciously respect the heart space
and head space, of not only ourselves, but of all people related to our
journey through fifth grade. We all also strive to always do our best and
allow our work to reflect our ability not our lack of responsibility.
