Procedures


ENTERING THE ROOM
Place home-learning in the "In-box".
Pick-Up your Composition Book
Sharpen Pencil and Begin Bellwork
Bellwork
Complete within first 5-10 minutes of class.
Number daily bellwork sequentially in composition books. (#1, # 2, # 3...)
Class reviews bellwork after alotted time.
Bellwork is kept in Composition Books and are stored in the classroom.
Composition books are checked periodically and grades are based on completeness and organization.
CLASS TIME:
Bellwork
Review Home Learning (assign 5 students daily, with their homework, to work on computers)
Preview Lesson
Lesson- Take notes and ask questions during the lesson. (Computer users will take notes on the computer)
Activity (when possible, computer users will complete activity from their computer)
Home Learning
Wrap-Up- Students reflect on the class by writing in their Compostion books. (AKA Learning Log)
HOME LEARNING
Must be placed in the "In-Box" on the student work-table upon entering the classroom.
Name (line #1 top right corner)
Date (line #2 top right corner)
Class and Period (line #3 top right corner)
Assignment (top line, far left)
Heading must be on each assignment and located in the upper right hand corner of the paper.
All home learning assignments total 100 points.
Work with improper headings will not be accepted or will be returned.
Students who do not have the home learning must state it in writing and turn it in with the others.
Work turned in a day late will result in a loss of 10 points.
Work later than one day IS NOT ACCEPTED.
Class Secretary
Appointed to record and post the day's lesson.
When there is a substitute.
Complete the agenda as it has been prepared for you. Work is always collected and graded.
Students are expected to behave according to the classroom rules.
MAKE-UP WORK:
For students with an excused absence.
It is the responsibility of the student to get the make-up work from the web-site or at the wall calendar where they are always posted.
The length of time the student was out will determine the length of time they have to complete it.
END OF CLASS
Copy down home-learning.
Students will spend the last 10 minutes writing a reflection of the day's class in the Learning Log Section of their notebooks.
Students are ready for dismissal when the room is orderly and they are seated. The bell does not dismiss the students, the teacher does.
