ACTIVITIES FOR FLORIDA HISTORY, UNITED STATE'S HISTORY & WORLD HISTORY

The following lessons and links provide opportunities for students to use 
technology as part of the Social Studies curriculum.  Students enjoy using 
the computer and online activities and still earn grades for school work. 

*These activities and subsequent grades will supplement any missing 
classroom assignments. Assignments will be graded according to 
ability to follow instructions, neatness and organization and overall 
effort/enthusiasm.  
*STUDENTS MAY WISH TO CONSULT AN ADULT, PARENT, FRIEND OR SIBLING FOR HELP

U.S. History - The Trail of Tears
A part of our history is the removal of thousands of Native-Americans from 
their lands due to the high demand for land by European, white settlers.  
This great removal and migration of Native Indians is known as the Trail of 
Tears.

World History - Landmarks of Civilization
The following activity can be completed with or without a partner.  This 
research-based assignment has students investigating some of the world's 
most sophisticated and ancient structures.

FLORIDA HISTORY - Florida Shipwrecks 
EXAMINE TWO OF THE WORLD'S MOST PRECIOUS ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES! SHIPWRECKS!!
During the 18th century (1715 & 1733) Spain lost two extremely valuable 
ships loaded with gold coins, silver, jewels, and other precious cargo, 
including human life, to fierce hurricanes along the Atlantic Coast. 

Directions:  Uncover these mysteries by completing the tasks ahead.  The 
first task begins with the "click" below and other tasks are found by 
pushing the "continue" button. Copy down the "URL" address at the top of 
each assignment you complete.  The "URL" is at the top of each page and 
begins like this "http://www..." Next, copy or print out the questions 
you are working on and any diagrams, pictures or photos that go along with 
the questions. Include a cover page and staple the work together.  You will 
earn a grade for each activity completed. There are several different 
activities.
