This immaculate organizational display alerts the student of passive voice, possible run-on sentences and misplaced phrases and relative clauses. These raw statistics alone would be enough to increase anyone's paper dramatically. Unlike any other writing reviser, it also compares the two papers head-to- head. This unique portrayal allows the student(s) to see how much they've improved their paper. WritingReviser also possesses an infallible organizational eclecticism exhibiting sentence structure either numerically, or graphically, allowing the student(s) to easily identify sentence openings, transitions, unintentional word reiteration, and weak verbs. Also, the program asks the student(s) to highlight the topic sentence of each paragraph when analyzing the body paragraphs, differentiating between weak paragraphs that lack sufficient support and strong paragraphs with ample support. This grants students the ability to see if their supporting sentences contribute to the topic sentence or venture off-topic. Overall, the rating of WritingReviser is a seven out of ten. It will greatly improve our papers' grades, precision, and accuracy. The only disadvantage is it will only run on computers with the latest version of java, preventing some computers from using the software at all. You copy and paste your paper on there and ask it to find something like "linking verbs" so you can eliminate passive voice. It will locate all your "to be" verbs for you. Please feel free to share this information with your parents. I would love to hear from them!! **************************************************************************** BASIC BACKGRUOND ON AN AP COURSE:> Advanced placement, or AP, courses are taught at the college level and provide students insight into what to expect when they head out from their high school campuses and into the path of higher education. AP courses are beneficial toward preparing students for college. AP Literature focuses on composition and critical analysis to deepen student understanding of literature while AP Language focuses on composition and critical thinking in factual prose. (Lit covers stories and poetry while Lang covers argument and rhetoric) AP Exams give students the opportunity to earn college credits and graduate at an earlier date. The exams are administered each May and consist of a free-response section (3 essays) and a section of multiple-choice questions. AP exam grades are recognized by more than 90 percent of colleges in the United States and in colleges in more than 60 other countries, according to the College Board Web site. AP scholar awards are given to those who have excelled in the exams and an AP grade report is given to the college. =========================================================================== ==RICHTEXT STEPS--for sending attachments --Open your document, go to FILE on the toolbar menu and then to SAVE AS. Adjust the options (SCROLL) in the window at the bottom of the page to richtext (RTF) file. --Double CLICK and it will give you options (window/box) as to what part (FILE FOLDER) of the computer to save it in. When the window/box opens, you decide where to save. --SAVE IT to your computer where you can find it! --With your mail open, hit the ATTACH ICON OR BUTTON (it's different with various programs). For many mail systems, you will see a PAPER CLIP as a clue that you are getting ready to ATTACH a file to send to someone. --You will see your computer's C drive. It will open in its own little box, right there in front of you. Find the document where you stored it (the document has to be closed--you can't have it open on your computer or it won't send!!!) --Click on it twice, and it will attach to your mail. --HIT SEND, and it should be on its way to the recipient. ========================================================================= CLASS JOBS AP LANGUAGE on the Sign-Up page and AP Lit on the Lit Syllabus page.
