Choose a blog from the following safe website:
www.nytimes.com/ref/topnews/blog-index.html. You may choose any topic you
desire. For example there are blogs on fashion, baseball, television, cars,
chess, food or politics. Read several posts into the blog, follow links
and/or comments as much as possible. Then create a Venn diagram that
compares the blog you have chosen with a traditional newspaper article on
the same topic. For example, the "Bats" blog in the New York Times might be
compared with traditional baseball reporting. Consider what information in
the blog is offered as fact, and describe the tone or point of view of the
blogger. Then write your own opinions to the blogs you selected by writing
comments. You may even respond to the blog on-line. Print out your response
for additional credit.
